David Butler, formerly principal solicitor of Butler & Co, joined Rachel Bird & Co on 1 July 2007. David has been in practice for 15 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree.  David obtained his degrees at Macquarie University and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the New South Wales College of Law. David commenced his legal career in Sydney before moving to join the Canberra legal profession in 1996.  David has practiced in both the ACT and New South Wales jurisdictions since that time.

David set up his own firm Butler & Co Lawyers in 1998, which is now incorporated with Rachel Bird & Co. David’s practice has primarily been in the personal injury and worker’s compensation areas. David is able to help you with those matters within the ACT jurisdiction, but is also now practicing in Criminal and Traffic Law with our firm.

David brings a down to earth approach to his matters and has extensive negotiation skills and court experience throughout his years of practice. He is experienced in both the New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory jurisdictions in appearance work and has also worked on cases requiring overseas communications.

David’s greatest passions include his family, being father to two children, and a love of soccer and AFL.  He plays soccer with Belwest and AFL with the ACT Masters. David has a friendly and comfortable approach to his clients, always putting them at ease with the friendly attitude of a seasoned professional.
